Broad-band plasmonic isolator compatible with low-gyrotropy magneto-optical material

چکیده

Integration of optical isolators remains one the main technological issues photonic circuits despite several decades research. We propose a radically new concept which enables performing broad-band isolation even in case low-gyrotropy material, opening road to class non-reciprocal devices using easy-to-integrate composite materials. The principle explores separation back-and-forth light paths, induced by coupled mode asymmetry magnetoplasmonic slot waveguides. show numerically that such structure combined with suitable absorbers gives more than 18 dB ratio on tens nanometers bandwidth, 2 insertion losses.

We report on a novel technique to realize a waveguide optical isolator without using conventional magneto-optical materials and external magnets. The simulations are repeatedly performed using Beam Propagation Method (BPM) to confirm the accuracy.
